Group riding basics 2008

  1. Always follow the lead bike and stay inline or staggered formation when road conditions permit, do not overtake bike in front of you, Never undertake.
  2. On any road or motorway do not make a move to overtake before the rider in front of you;  
  3. On motorways do not allow a gap to form between riders as this allows cars to separate the group
  4. Make sure you arrive at start of ride out with a Full tank
  5. Arrive at start minimum of 15 minuets before start, for briefing
  6. Re-fuelling stops will be made approx every 100 miles.

Ride type or style

Ma & Pa    Steady pace on mostly B roads and as scenic a route as possible,   Suitable for all skill levels of riding ability 

Lads & Ladites    Faster pace A roads possible Motorways, fewer stops (less tea & p)  Suitable, for experienced riders who like to get there .

Staggered riding    Used to keep the group together but should only be used when road conditions are safe to do so.

Second man drop off.    The best way to mark turns or junction, so that the group remains together.  (Read full explanation  at  general information web page)

Buddy system.  Its your responsibility to keep the rider BEHIND so that you can see him in your mirror.  The rider in front will do the same for you this way the group will remain together and no one should be lost.
