John White will lead a weekend ride out to Wells (England's smallest cathedral city), starting out on Friday, 1 August, staying 2 nights in Wells and returning on Sunday, 3 August.
The ride on Friday will take us onto the motorway to Leicester, Junction 21 and from there on take a scenic route along the Fosse Way and on through Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Tetbury, Bath and on to Wells.
There will be adequate T, P and petrol stops. On Saturday there will be a ride to Cheddar Gorge and on to Wookey Hole for lunch with its spectacular caves, museum and last surviving hand made paper mill, dating back to the time of Shakespeare.
We return home on Sunday at a leisurely pace.
The Swan Hotel is one of four hotels in Wells and the only one with available
rooms. It isn't cheap at £134 per double room per night including breakfast but
not including evening meal and we must stay for a minimum of two nights, but if
we can guarantee twenty couples to stay the two nights the cost will be £138 per
double room per night including breakfast and evening meal. The hotel is a Best
Western and is a traditional 15th century coaching inn.

We need to let the hotel know how many couples we are taking by Thursday, 7
February so please let us know via the peak riders web site or ringing John on
07855 817355 as soon as possible.
We have also reserved some single rooms for single riders and all are welcome.
We hope to hear from you.
